Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. could be reuniting with the team that drafted him. On Monday, Beckham had a workout and physical with the New York Giants, according to team sources.
The Giants selected Beckham with the 12th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, and over five seasons in New York he emerged as one of the NFL’s biggest star receivers. He was the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014 and went on to make the Pro Bowl three times for the Giants. He was dealt to the Cleveland Browns after the 2018 season and struggled to recapture his superstar form, tearing his ACL in 2020. He was waived in November 2021 and latched on with the Los Angeles Rams, where he shined as a complement to Cooper Kupp. Beckham scored the first touchdown of the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, but left the game in the second quarter with what was revealed to be another torn ACL.
After taking the 2022 season off to rehabilitate his knee, Beckham signed with the Baltimore Ravens, then led by current Giants coach John Harbaugh.
“He and I do talk. We do text,” Harbaugh said when asked about Beckham at the NFL league meeting last month. “We maintain a really great relationship. He’s one of my favorite people in the world. It’s not like you don’t talk to guys about things like that, and certainly, we have. We’ll just have to see where it all goes. What’s best for him, what’s best for the Giants. That’s the No. 1 thing: It’s what’s best for our team.”
Beckham was released after one season in Baltimore and joined the Miami Dolphins for 2024, but was waived in December of that year. Beckham was unsigned in 2025 and served a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
