State lawmakers passed yet another budget extender in Albany on Monday as the state budget is nearly three weeks late. The extender runs through Wednesday and funds Medicaid, payroll, schools and other essential expenses. The budget was due April 1. Also, advocates and lawmakers took over the Million Dollar Staircase in the state Capitol Monday to call for changes to the state’s sentencing laws including the Second Look Act, the Earned Time Act, and the Marvin Mayfield Act.
