Two dead after fire in Bronx building, officials say

At least two people died after a fire broke out at a building in the Bronx on Tuesday, authorities said. 

Firefighters responded to a blaze at a five-story building on East 187th Street, between Belmont and Cambreleng avenues in Belmont, early Tuesday afternoon, the FDNY said.

By around 3 p.m., the four-alarm fire had spread to multiple floors of the building, according to the FDNY

By around 3 p.m., the four-alarm fire had spread to multiple floors of the building, according to the FDNY.

The NYPD said two fatalities have been reported in connection with the blaze. 

The FDNY is set to hold a press conference about the fire later in the day.
