The FDNY is working on Wednesday to determine what caused a fire that killed two people and injured nearly a dozen others in the Bronx.

Of those injured, officials say two people suffered serious injuries, four suffered minor injuries, and five firefighters also suffered minor injuries. They were taken to local hospitals.

The Red Cross is helping dozens of families forced out of their homes after Tuesday’s fire.

“For now we’re trying to find a new place to live, trying to pick up the pieces from losing everything,” said fire victim Luicano Silva.

Many of the displaced residents of 660 East 187th St. got a hot meal in a church basement as a flood of donations have poured into Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Those who lost everything can get the barest of necessities there, including clothing, underwear, toiletries and non-perishable food items.

Catholic Charities is also providing social services.

“We have case managers on staff, lawyers who can help with relocation, immigration, whatever people need to just get back on their feet,” said the Rev. Carlos Germosen with Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Many of the victims made it out via the fire escape since the interior stairwell of the 100-year-old, non-fireproof wood building also collapsed.

Some victims said they were shocked that the fire was able to spread from the first floor to the fifth.

There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.

Fire marshals are working around the clock to determine what caused the deadly blaze.
