JENKINS TWP. — A man from Brooklyn, N.Y.C., was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Tuesday night.

The Pennsylvania State Police at Pocono say Yosef D. Loriner, 25, operating a 2024 Toyota Corolla, was traveling north and veered onto the shoulder, colliding with a parked 2025 Freightliner, which resulted in a fire just after 8 p.m.

The driver of the truck tractor attempted to reach the driver of the Toyota but was unsuccessful due to the fire, state police say.

Loriner was pronounced dead at the scene by the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office.
