On average, our New York City team visits around 100 restaurants per month. A lot of these spots are openings we need to scope out—and you can find the most exciting ones on our Hit List—but we also revisit older places, to check in and try new things. Once in a while, we encounter a standout dish (or drink) that we want to tell you about immediately. October was particularly beefy, with two steaks, a roast beef sandwich, and a beef noodle soup making the cut. But we also ate fancy butter noodles in an off-Broadway theater, and some impressive spaetzle in a brewery. See these highlights from our recent meals below, and previous months here.
