QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A 14-year-old boy is recovering after he was slashed in the face at a subway station in Queens on Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 4:50 p.m. at the Parsons Boulevard subway station.

Police say the boy was in the mezzanine area when an unidentified individual approached him and started a dispute.

The individual then allegedly took out a pocketknife and slashed the boy in the face before fleeing the station, police say.

EMS transported the victim to a local hospital in stable condition.

The NYPD released the following photo of the suspect.
