With the state budget still not yet complete, a state senator in Albany is looking to expand Gov. Kathy Hochul’s proposed Pied a Terre tax on luxury second homes in New York City to the rest of the state. The money would go to help those communities with their financial difficulties. Also, Gov. Hochul has been very clear that she wants to prioritize the creation of hundreds of thousands of housing units in New York to address the state’s housing crisis. Ruth Ann Visnauskas, the state commissioner of Homes and Community Renewal, joined Capital Tonight Thursday to discuss the issue.
