Thruway Authority

ALBANY, N.Y. — Plans are underway to modernize fueling facilities at 27 New York State Thruway service areas.

The New York State Thruway Authority is requesting proposals for upgrades that will include new amenities and electric vehicle charging. The current fuel contracts are set to expire in March 2027, and the Authority is looking for partners to design, build and operate the next generation of fueling stations.

Fueling facilities will stay open 24/7 during the transition, and no two consecutive sites in the same direction will be closed at the same time. Proposals are due by July 24, and the new lease is expected to begin next year.
