UTICA, N.Y. — Thursday night, the United Cultural Connection brought culture, food and traditions from all over the world to one place.
Hosted at MVCC’s thINCubator, people, including restaurants, brought homemade dishes from across 18 different countries.
These included swedish meatballs, spinach pie and kljukuša.
It also featured Henna and Spanish dominoes.
Kailey Sweet, the president of United Cultural Connection, said the best part is the community coming together.
“So I feel like there’s a gap between our regular business networking after hours or events and then the cultural events,” she said. “Our whole goal with not-for-profit is really to bridge that gap and to bring everyone together under one roof; everyone feels welcome, everyone can learn a little, grow a little, try some new food.”
As for future plans, Sweet said the nonprofit plans on collaborating with other nonprofits to hold community events.
