This event brought together expectant parents and families with young children up to three years of age to benefit from various essential resources and support services while also connecting with other community members.

Some of the local elected officials who partnered with Comrie to put this event together included Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Assemblymembers David Weprin, Alicia L. Hindman and Clyde Vanel, New York City Council Deputy Speaker Dr. Nantasha Williams and Council Members Selvena Brooks-Powers and Tyrell Hankerson.

“My office likes doing this event because it really goes back directly to people that are really appreciative of what we’re doing here,” Comrie said. “I just want to thank Eagle Academy. Among the organizations that were represented at the Community Baby Shower were Life Camp Inc., Queens of Queens, New York Women in Correction, Inc., Dedicated Hands Doula Services, Seamorhen, Forestdale, Public Health Solutions, the Showing Hearts Foundation, the River Fund, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens, the National Council of Negro Women, the Jamaica Community Partnership, Community Mediation Services, Rising Ground, Law Enforcement Exploring, the New York State Senate, the New York State Assemly, the New York City Council, the FDNY, the NYPD, NYC Health, the NYC DOT, NYC Children and the New York State Division of Consumer Protection.
