“New Yorkers are ready to welcome fans from across the world for the 2026 World Cup and we’re making sure everyone who calls this city home is part of this historic event,” Governor Kathy Hochul said.
The news comes after officials cautioned New York and New Jersey commuters to not take Ubers or use mass transit during the games. NJ Transit is charging $150 for a round-trip ticket to Penn Station during the games — raising eyebrows.
