On Sunday, October 26th, Astoria Park was once again alive with excitement as families, friends, and neighbors gathered for the highly anticipated 10th Annual “Batty Over Halloween” Celebration. Taking place on the Ditmars Lawn from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, this year’s milestone event offered an afternoon of Halloween-themed entertainment, hands-on activities, and festive treats for attendees of all ages.
Community members were welcomed—and encouraged—to arrive in costume, adding to the spirited atmosphere throughout the park. The celebration featured engaging performances by local art schools and performance centers, along with a whimsical puppet show that delighted younger audiences.
Eventgoers enjoyed a variety of family favorites, including face painting, arts & crafts stations, balloon art, a photo booth sponsored by Medusa Art Studios, Scholastic Book giveaway, and free treats.
The combination of community talent, hands-on creativity, and kid-friendly entertainment continued the tradition that has made “Batty Over Halloween” one of Astoria’s most beloved annual gatherings.
This cherished program was made possible in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the New York City Council, and NYC Council Member Tiffany Cabán. Central Astoria LDC extends its gratitude to its partners, performers, volunteers, and participating organizations whose support allows residents to celebrate the season in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
“On behalf of everyone at Central Astoria LDC, we’re thrilled to commemorate ten years of Halloween festivities in Astoria,” said Noura, Event Organizer. “It’s heartwarming to see our community come together year after year to enjoy this tradition. We’re grateful to all who helped make this milestone event such a wonderful success.”
As Astoria’s seasonal celebrations continue to flourish, the Annual “Batty Over Halloween” Celebration remains a testament to the neighborhood’s vibrant energy, artistic pride, and commitment to family-oriented programming.
