Police are searching for a suspect following a machete attack in the Bronx early Tuesday, authorities say.

Two men were slashed with the weapon around 3 a.m. in Fordham, on Walton Avenue near East 183rd Street, officials say.

One of them, a 34-year-old, took a machete to the head. The other, age 39, was slashed on the hand.

Both were taken to a hospital and are expected to be OK. Chopper 4 showed a heavy law enforcement response at the scene as the sun came up.

It’s not clear what prompted the attack. Authorities haven’t released a description of a possible suspect.
