Hudson Regional Health (HRH) and New York Medical College (NYMC) of Valhalla, N.Y., on April 28 marked a regional health care milestone: the introduction of an orthopedic surgery residency program at HRH beginning this summer.
HRH’s application for the orthopedic residency program was recently approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the organization responsible for accrediting all graduate medical education programs in the United States.
Hudson Regional and New York Medical College previously announced an academic affiliation in December 2025, designating HRH as a teaching site for the education and training of New York Medical College medical students in family medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and now orthopedic surgery. This agreement established clerkships, sub-internships, and elective rotations at HRH’s facilities in Secaucus, Bayonne and Hoboken.

New York Medical College was founded in 1860 and is one of the oldest and largest health sciences colleges in the country, with nearly 2,000 students and nearly 800 residents and clinical fellows, more than 1,900 faculty members, and more than 26,000 living alumni.
