ALBANY, N.Y. (WKTV) — The New York State Canal system is set to open for the annual navigation season.
According to the New York State Canal Corporation, all portions of the canal system are scheduled to open May 15, with standard hours of operation from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily until Oct. 14.
Mariners are encouraged to review the posted schedule closely, as updates will be shared through the Notice to Mariners notification program.
There are no tolls or fees for recreational use of the canal system this year.
