ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The New York State Police is seeking information from the public as they continue to investigate the murder of a woman in the Town of Williamson.
According to troopers, on November 5, 2025, 66-year-old Cheryl Goodberlet was found dead in her William Orchard Estates apartment. An investigation into her death determined she was the victim of what police described as a “violent attack.”
Throughout the investigation, State Police have conducted multiple interviews, developed leads, and collected evidence; however, no suspects have been charged or arrested in connection with Goodberlet’s death.
A statement from New York State Police read, “Even information that may seem minor could be critical to the investigation and help bring closure to the victim’s family. Investigators are aware that additional individuals have direct knowledge of what occurred before and after this homicide and have not yet come forward or provided complete information.”
Anyone who had contact with Goodberlet, visited Williamson Orchard Estates, or has information regarding individuals or activity in the surrounding area on the evening of November 4 is encouraged to contact (585)-398-4100 or email crimetip@troopers.ny.gov.
The investigation remains ongoing.
