A 9-year-old boy was fatally hit by a school bus while crossing the street in Williamsburg on Friday morning.
According to police, at 8:18 a.m. on May 1, police responded to a call regarding a pedestrian struck at Lee Avenue and Lorimer Street. Upon their arrival, officers found that the child had been hit by a school bus and sustained head trauma.
The victim was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center, where police told amNewYork he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Pix11 reported that the bus driver was turning left onto Lorimer Street when he hit the child. The driver initially kept going, but returned to the scene.
No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
