EAST NEW YORK — Department of Social Services (DSS) Commissioner Molly Wasow Park last week joined the Institute for Community Living and Camber Property Group to open 182 deeply affordable homes at 2886 Atlantic Ave., the first Brooklyn site under DSS’s Affordable Housing Services (AHS) program.

The initiative leverages city vouchers to create long-term housing for New Yorkers leaving the shelter system. The AHS pipeline now exceeds 1,000 awarded or open units, with 835 already operational.

DSS connected more than 37,500 residents to permanent homes in Fiscal Year 2025, as part of the nation’s second-largest rental subsidy program.
