The superintendent of the Starpoint Central School District has stepped down.
The district’s Board of Education announced that it and Superintendent Sean Croft have mutually agreed to part ways after 26 years in Starpoint schools.
His last day was Friday.
Maureen Braunscheidel will serve as interim superintendent as the district begins the process to select someone for the role permanently.
“The Board expressed its appreciation for Dr. Croft’s 26 years of dedicated service to the District, including his leadership as both Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent. During his tenure, Dr. Croft played a significant role in advancing initiatives that supported students, staff, and families, while strengthening district programs and operations,” the district’s Board of Education said in a statement.
