ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Congressmen and Democrats Joe Morelle and Hakeem Jeffries announced a redistricting initiative Monday.

They’re calling it the “New York Democracy Project.” The two will travel to Albany on Tuesday to talk with state leaders about re-drawing New York’s districts.

The initiative is in response to redistricting efforts in Florida and a Supreme Court ruling last week that invalidated majority-Black districts in Louisiana.
