  • May 5, 2026

TOWN OF HENDERSON, New York (WWNY) – Two Jefferson County women face animal cruelty charges following the death of a dog.

The county sheriff’s office announced on Monday that they arrested Jenna Ellinger, 41, and Olivia Thompson, 22, in February. Both women are from the town of Henderson.

The two were charged with felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

According to court documents, Ellinger and Thompson, “with no justifiable purpose, caused serious physical injury which resulted in the death of a 1 year old German shepherd in a depraved and sadistic manner by failing to provide sustenance and medical treatment.”

The two appeared in Henderson Town Court on Monday. The case was sent to Jefferson County Court.

7 News reached out to the sheriff’s office for more information. We’ll update this story if we hear back.
