Cops are looking for the suspects who allegedly broke into a Fresh Meadows home and stole nearly $40,000 in cash and property.

Police from the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows are looking for a pair of burglars who broke into a home in the vicinity of 67th Avenue and 166th Street during the early morning hours of Monday, April 20.
Police say the perpetrators forcefully entered the Fresh Meadows residence through a rear door at 12:17 a.m. Once inside, they removed jewelry, a purse, and approximately $39,000 in cash, police said. The two men fled the location on foot in an unknown direction.
They tried to hit another home in the confines of the 106th Precinct in Ozone Park a few days later, this time in broad daylight at a residence in the vicinity of Sutter Avenue and 96th Street. The burglars attempted to enter the home by breaking the rear door with a crowbar at around just after 3 p.m. but they were unable to break in and fled on foot in an unknown direction. There were no injuries reported after both incidents.
The suspects were caught on camera casing the rear patio of the Fresh Meadows home and one of them even took a call on his cell phone. They are described as having light complexions, dark hair with beards and mustaches. The one that took the call has a heavy build and wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and gray sneakers. His accomplice has a medium build and wore a black hooded sweatshirt, white sweatpants and white and black sneakers.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to their arrest and indictment.

Through May 3, the 107th Precinct has reported 57 burglaries so far in 2026, 32 fewer than the 89 burglaries reported at the same point last year, a decline of 36%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Burglaries are also down in the 106th Precinct with 25 reported so far this year, 14 fewer than the 39 reported at the same point in 2025, a decrease of 35.9%, according to CompStat.
