Mother’s Day weekend in Harlem is shaping up to be more than flowers and greeting cards.
Across uptown Manhattan, families, friends, and mothers themselves will have plenty of ways to celebrate on May 10, with everything from brunch and gospel music to jazz concerts and wellness events.

For many Harlem restaurants, Mother’s Day brunch remains the main attraction. Popular neighborhood spots including BLVD Bistro and The Row Harlem are offering special brunch menus expected to draw large crowds throughout the weekend.
But this year’s celebrations also include events focused on healing, creativity, and community.
One of the more unique gatherings is the Self-Love Walk for Estranged Moms taking place Sunday morning at the Harlem Meer in Central Park. The event is designed for mothers navigating difficult family transitions, estrangement, or emotional change, offering a supportive space centered on reflection and wellness.
Music lovers will have several options throughout the weekend as well.
The legendary Harlem Gospel Choir is scheduled to perform at the Blue Note Jazz Club on Mother’s Day afternoon, bringing its signature mix of gospel classics and soulful energy to the iconic venue.
Meanwhile, jazz fans can enjoy live outdoor performances across Harlem parks. The West Harlem Summer Jazz Festival continues May 9 evening in Morningside Park with a free performance from Baba Don Eaton and JAAMBO near the Turtle Pond.
On May 10 afternoon, local musicians and singers will gather for “Jazz in the Park at Ralph Ellison,” a free community concert running from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ralph Ellison Plaza near Riverside Drive.
For those looking to celebrate early, the c is hosting a Pre-Mother’s Day Paint & Brunch at Amy Ruth’s on Saturday morning. The event combines guided painting, brunch, and social activities aimed at creating a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere.
From soul food and jazz to wellness walks and gospel performances, Harlem’s Mother’s Day weekend offerings reflect the neighborhood’s long tradition of blending culture, community, and celebration.
