On this week’s “In Focus,” NY1’s Cheryl Wills and Council member Selvena Brooks-Powers discuss a new law seeking to address gender-motivated violence.
Brooks-Powers said the law allows survivors to file civil claims against institutions responsible for their assaults. Former Mayor Eric Adams had vetoed the bill initially.
The law includes an 18-month look-back period for filing claims.
