MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) — A fallen boom lift led to street closures in Midtown, Manhattan on Saturday, according to the Department of Buildings and Notify NYC.
The 135-foot boom was on the scene on Madison Avenue, where inspectors were looking into a building facade at the location, a spokesperson for the Department of Buildings said.
During the inspection, the lift malfunctioned and got stuck, the DOB reported. When the operator attempted to bring the arm down manually, it tipped over, the spokesperson said.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.
