BENSONHURST, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A Brooklyn man is accused of raping and choking his 59-year-old neighbor after breaking into her bedroom over the weekend, authorities said.
Jakhongir Sattorov, 38, allegedly attacked the woman in her home near Fifteenth Avenue and 71st Street in Bensonhurst at around 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to the criminal complaint.
Sattorov allegedly broke the lock on the woman’s bedroom door before asking her to have sex, according to the NYPD and court records.
When she refused, the suspect allegedly punched the woman several times and choked her until she became lightheaded, authorities said.
Sattorov then allegedly raped his neighbor multiple times, prosecutors said, The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect was arrested Saturday and charged with rape, assault, strangulation, sexual misconduct, and criminal mischief, according to the complaint.
Sattorov pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Sunday, and is being held without bail, according to court records.
His lawyer could not be reached immediately on Monday.
