Cops are looking for the suspects who allegedly beat a teen on an E train in Kew Gardens, then brandished a large knife and stole his sneakers worth more that $1,000.

Police from the 112th Precinct are looking for two suspects who allegedly beat and robbed a 17-year-old boy at knifepoint on board an E train in Kew Gardens on Sunday, May 3.
Police say the victim was riding a Jamaica-bound E Train just after 2 p.m. when two strangers began arguing with him as they were approaching the Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike subway station. The perpetrators began to punch the teen, while one of the assailants pulled out a large knife, police said. They forcibly removed the victim’s sneakers valued at approximately $1,200 before getting off the train at the Briarwood subway station. They fled on foot on Queens Boulevard. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspects on Sunday and described them as having light complexions. One wore a black mask, a black and gray hooded sweatshirt, black shorts and white sneakers while his accomplice wore a black and orange hooded sweatshirt with matching sweatpants, black sneakers and a black backpack.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to their arrest and indictment.

Through May 3, the 112th Precinct has reported 28 robberies so far in 2026, the same number of robberies reported at the same point last year, according to the most recent CompStat report. The precinct reported 48 felony assaults so far this year, 11 fewer than the 59 reported at the same point in 2025, a decline of 18.6%, according to CompStat. Transit crimes are trending lower in the precinct with five reported so far in 2026, eight fewer than the 13 reported at the same point last year, a decrease of 61.5%, according to CompStat.
