FORDHAM, Bronx (PIX11) — A one-year-old was killed in an apartment fire in the Fordham section of the Bronx, according to the FDNY.
Two other children, both six years old, were left seriously hurt, officials say.
The incident happened in the buildings on Bainbridge Avenue, just before 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
The children were pulled out of the apartment where the fire started.

Fire officials are sending a life-saving reminder to residents.
“Close the door. It is tough to do. It is tough to wrap your mind around having to do that, but the minute you close that door, you give everyone else in the building the opportunity to flee.”
Five other people were hurt, three of them firefighters, officials say. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
