Boy, 15, shoots himself with gun handed to him by friend, 13, at Bronx ballfield

A 15-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the head with a gun handed to him by a 13-year-old friend at a baseball field located within a Bronx NYCHA complex, cops said Tuesday.

The teen shot himself at the ballfields located behind the Boston Secor Houses on Bivona St. near Reed Mill Lane in Baychester around 2:48 p.m. Monday, according to law enforcement.

Medics rushed the wounded teen to Jacobi Medical Center in critical but stable condition.

The younger boy was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. His name is being withheld due to his age.
