By the time fans began speculating that David Harbour’s Nolita apartment was the subject of a song on his ex-wife Lily Allen’s album West End Girl, the Stranger Things star had already offloaded it. Harbour sold the one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom loft for $2.7 million in an off-market deal in August 2025, according to a new report from the New York Post—just two months before the release of Allen’s album, which detailed the pair’s tumultuous split earlier that year.
The outlet claims that Harbour rushed to sell the loft before the song was released, with a source saying he allegedly “lost money” after factoring in what he spent on renovations.
Harbour initially snagged the co-op for $2 million in September 2017, and opened the home to AD for a tour in 2019. The actor said that he searched for a “very New York” residence in the city for three years before landing on the Nolita dwelling. He enlisted Kyle O’Donnell of Gramercy Design—who also worked with Stranger Things creator Matt Duffer—to transform the 1,400-square-foot former wagon wheel factory into a modern-day condo. “It didn’t look like much,” Harbour said of the space before the transformation. “The floors were uneven, there was crappy drywall…It was just a crazy space that clearly hadn’t been touched since the ’70s.”

After 10 months of renovations, the apartment’s new layout consists of a spacious living room and an open office area. Harbour’s loft was gutted to reveal architectural details from the factory, including metal bolts once used to hang tools for building wagon wheels. Two bathrooms were combined into one, five closets were added, and a tin ceiling was installed with antique panels from a decommissioned factory in Pennsylvania, ensuring that the place maintained plenty of vintage charm. Other upgrades include a wall installation with a hidden door at the entryway and a complete kitchen redesign.
While Harbour was bidding farewell to his downtown pad, the estranged couple also listed their shared Brooklyn townhouse in October 2025. They sold the Carroll Gardens brownstone in April 2026 for $7 million.
