A public hearing to discuss Kansas State University Foundation’s request for the establishment of a Tax Increment Finance district and a Sales Tax Revenue district has been set for June 16th at 6:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers located at City Hall.
The tax districts to be discussed would help fund development and construction of KSU’s Edge 3.0 and other commercial and tourist opportunities.
According to official documents filed with the court, KSU’s development project would consist of new builds and renovations of old properties. They plan to add multi-use venues that can be used for major multisport athletics; rodeo and livestock facilities for collegiate, professional, and agricultural events; and an indoor track facility for hosting regional and national track and field competitions at the collegiate, junior college, and high school levels.
New retail spaces, restaurants, offices, recreational areas, and more have also been proposed. Residences, including multi-family facilities, visitor amenities, and associated streets and other public and private infrastructure have also been planned.
