BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — A child suffered a gunshot wound during a shooting in the Bronx on Wednesday evening, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 5:40 p.m. at 1007 Southern Blvd.

Police say two groups started shooting at each other when one of the bullets grazed the 5-year-old girl in the head.

The child was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The NYPD has released surveillance photos of three suspects.

The incident comes as the NYPD reports a decrease in crime across the city. In the Bronx, there have been 71 shooting incidents as of May 10, down from 85 compared to a year ago.
