MOUNTAIN LAKE — Andy Roger Baccam, 45, of Brooklyn Park, is charged in Cottonwood County with a firearm violation as a felon convicted of a violent crime, second-degree assault with a firearm, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and threats of violence. All four charges are felonies.

According to the law enforcement report, on April 29, Mountain Lake police went to a residence after a report of a domestic assault involving a firearm.
When the officer arrived, he met with the victim who said that Baccam sometimes stayed at their place. They alleged that in March, there was an incident where he became angry and began waving a handgun near their head. At one point, he pressed the barrel of the gun into the side of (their) head, the report detailed. The victim calmed Baccam down and hid the gun. Baccam was now reaching out to ask for the gun back.
The victim gave the officer the handgun, which was loaded. They also showed him texts from April 12 which referenced the incident.
The victim also alleged that on April 18, Baccam had followed them around the house with a hammer. They said he would lunge at them with the hammer and try to scare them.
Another incident that the victim spoke of — from just the week before — happened over a video call when Baccam began insulting and threatening the victim, before pulling out a handgun and waving it around the screen.
The victim told the officer that incidents like these occur regularly. Baccam was convicted in 2001 of threats of violence. His conviction prohibits him from possessing firearms. Baccam is scheduled to appear July 27 in Cottonwood County Fifth District Court.
