Electric Bus

UTICA, N.Y. — Nearly $80 million in State funding has been allocated to seven transit providers to expand their use of zero-emission vehicles under New York’s Zero-Emission Transit Transition Program.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that the Central New York Regional Transportation Authority (Centro) will receive $17.5 million.

This funding will consolidate facilities and operations in Oneida County to support the transition to a zero-emission fleet, with potential expansion to Madison and Herkimer counties.

The project includes the purchase of battery-electric and hydrogen-electric vehicles.
