Cops are looking for the suspect, who allegedly shoved a child face-first onto the floor of a Flushing playground right in front of the young victim’s mother.

Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing are looking for an unhinged woman who allegedly assaulted a child right in front of his mother in a playground in broad daylight on Monday, May 11.
Police say the 7-year-old boy and his mom were in Maple Playground at the intersection of Kissena Boulevard and Maple Avenue at 5:15 p.m. when the suspect approached the youngster and pushed him face-first into the ground. An NYPD spokesperson could not say what precipitated the assault, or if it was a random attack or if the boy was targeted.
The mother told investigators that the woman just pushed her son to the playground floor before fleeing the playground in an unknown direction. Her child sustained a laceration to his face and scratches to his face and hands, but medical attention was refused at the scene, police said.
The NYPD released a surveillance image of the suspect and described her as having a light complexion with a heavy build and long brown hair. She wore a brown softball jersey with white stripes, mom jeans, eyeglasses and what appears to be an orange wristband on her left arm.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to her arrest and indictment.

Through May 10, the 109th Precinct has reported 172 felony assaults so far in 2026, 18 more than the 154 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 11.7%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
