Authorities are still investigating after a 76-year-old woman was struck and killed Sunday night in Queens as she walked across part of the Grand Central Parkway.
According to police sources, the incident occurred just before 11 p.m. at Exit 10 (Long Island Expressway) of the Grand Central Parkway, within the confines of the 110th Precinct in Corona.
Cops say a 43-year-old man driving a 2013 Toyota Highlander “failed to navigate the roadway” and struck the senior — later identified as Yuang Qin of Brooklyn — as she walked westbound in the parkway’s eastbound left lane.
Qin was left with severe head and torso trauma and was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in critical condition. She later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota remained on scene. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
