QUEENS, NY – The Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens (VBCGQ) celebrates its deepening partnership with DLR Group, the visionary architecture firm leading the design of the organization’s new clubhouse, set to open in 2029. The collaboration reflects a shared investment in the future of Queens youth, one that extends beyond blueprints and into the community itself.

Since the outset of the project, DLR Group has taken time to understand the heart of VBCGQ: its values, its members, and the vital role the club plays in the lives of young people throughout the borough. The result is a clubhouse designed to inspire wonder in every child who walks through its doors.

The new Clubhouse will feature an Aquatics Center, Planetarium, Theater, Hockey Rink, and Dance Studio, anchored by a Grand Stair and welcoming Lobby.

This fall, members of the DLR Group will run the TCS New York City Marathon on behalf of VBCGQ, a powerful gesture of solidarity between the architects and the community they help build.

“Thank you to DLR, their principal Maria Wilpon, and all of the runners who will represent Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens at the NYC Marathon,” said Costa Constantinides, Chief Executive Officer of Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens. “This physical and personal sacrifice is appreciated by the over 5,000 youth we serve annually. Know that every step you take on the 26.2-mile run, we will be cheering for you and rooting you on. Each one of them is a winner for our kids.”

“Running the New York City Marathon three times taught me that the human spirit is stronger than we ever imagine,” said Maria Wilpon, principal of DLR Group. “Every mile inspires resilience, courage, and gratitude. The marathon changes your life forever. Ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things with perseverance, passion, and heart. Go, runners 2026!”
