GucciCore arrived in Times Square with the confidence of a house that knew exactly where it stood. More than 70 years after Gucci opened its first store outside Italy in New York, the collection read as both return and reset, using the city’s electric theater as the ideal stage for a sharper, more essential vision of the brand.

There was real poetry in the setup. The invitation recalled the storied Gucci Galleria, that hidden salon above Fifth Avenue once reserved for clients with a golden key, while the square’s towering screens flickered with a clever montage of imagined Gucci worlds: travel, sport, jewelry, hotels, pets, business, even daily life itself. The message was clear. Gucci was not simply a label here, but a fully formed way of being.

The clothes mirrored New York at street level and at its most cinematic. Uptown polish met downtown ease. Pinstripes, slouchy denim, sculpted gowns and soft tailoring moved together like neighborhoods crossing paths. Rich shearling, supple leather, croc-like sequins and featherwork brought opulence, while reversible outerwear and technical fabrics kept things grounded.

And then there were the signatures: the Web, the Horsebit, jewel-toned bags and razor-sharp boots. In GucciCore, past character studies came together as one permanent wardrobe—practical, seductive and unmistakably Gucci.
