The end of the school year is coming up, which means that students will have a lot more free time to hang out, go to camp or be on their phones.
A New York City mom and media literacy advocate is hoping to provide families with the tools they need to rethink how kids interact with social media and the impacts on mental health.
Megan Kiefer, founder of the Take Two Media Initiative, joined “The Rush Hour” on Monday to provide tips on reducing screen time for the whole family.
“There’s a natural desire has parents to entertain kids. The device becomes the distraction,” Kiefer said. “Let kids be bored, be creative in other ways and spend time outside.”
