A man killed by a Brooklyn subway train early Tuesday may have fallen onto the tracks during a fight on the platform, police sources said.
The incident is one of two mysterious deaths that occurred in the city within an hour just after 12 a.m., cops said.
The unidentified man was at the New Lots Ave. subway station at Livonia St. in East New York at about 12:45 a.m. when he ended up onto the roadbed and was struck by a Manhattan-bound No. 3 train.
The man died at the scene. Cops were trying to identify the victim on Tuesday.
Detectives are searching for surveillance video that would help them determine if the victim was arguing with another straphanger just before he fell to his death, a police source with knowledge of the case said.
About 45 minutes earlier in the Bronx, cops were called to River Ave. near E. 164th St. in Highbridge on a report of an assault.
When they arrived, they found a 37-year-old man unconscious on the ground.
EMS rushed the man to Lincoln Hospital, but he couldn’t be saved. His name was not immediately released.
It was not disclosed if the victim sustained any physical injuries before he died.
Cops were awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine how the man died and if he died during a fight, a police source said.
