NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Multiple subway trains are running with severe delays after they were partly suspended throughout New York City during the Wednesday morning commute.
E, F, M and R trains had extensive delays after they were partly suspended due to a technical problem with the subway signal system, according to the MTA’s website.
E trains did not run between 50th Street and Jamaica Center. R trains also did not run between 57th Street/Seventh Avenue and 71st Street. M trains did not run between Essex Street and Forest Hills-71st Avenue while F trains stopped running between Rockefeller Center and 179th Street.
The No. 6, B, D, G, N and W trains were also delayed due to signal problems and a door problem, the MTA website showed.

Below is a list of alternate service on the impacted train lines.
E trains ran via the C line from West 4th Street to 168th Street
F trains ran via the G line from Bergen Street to Court Square
Some F trains ended service at 57th Street on the M line
M trains ran via the J line from Essex Street to Myrtle Avenue
R trains ran via Q line from DeKalb Avenue to 96th Street
Some uptown F trains ran via D line from West 4th Street to 125th Street
The cause behind the signal problems was not immediately made known.
