Bruriah High School marked Purple Day, a day organized by the Shalom Task Force dedicated to the promotion and education of healthy relationships in our community and to combat and prevent domestic violence. The day’s program was organized by Bruriah’s Shalom Task Force Ambassadors Ariella Frohlinger, Tova Lomnitz, Maya Solomon and Tzivia Wurtzel as part of their prestigious Shalom Task Force Future Community Leaders Fellowship.
Bruriah students heard from Shalom Task Force representatives where they discussed what healthy relationships look like and red flags that can signify unhealthy relationships. Juniors were also privileged to hear from Keshet Starr, CEO of Shalom Task Force and Bruriah parent, who led a dynamic and engaging discussion around advocacy work on behalf of agunot. Students further participated in the day by wearing purple and selling Purple Day swag and purple cookies to raise money and awareness for the important work of the Shalom Task Force.
