A 30-year-old Syracuse resident died Thursday night at Lincoln Pond in Essex County, New York, according to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Rangers rescued two people from the water, who were taken to the hospital for hypothermia. A third person, a 30-year-old from Syracuse, was later found dead, the department said. State officials are urging people to wear life jackets, especially in cold or fast-moving water.
