NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – Many of these New Yorkers voted for Zohran Mamdani in the 2025 election. How do they think he’s doing now?
An exclusive poll from PIX11 News, Emerson College and The Hill asked voters in three congressional districts how they rate Mamdani’s job performance so far.

Democratic voters in the 10th Congressional District, which includes lower Manhattan, Park Slope and Sunset Park, showed the most support. Some 78.5% of respondents approved of the job Mamdani is doing, while 11.8% disapproved.
It’s notable considering former Comptroller Brad Lander, whom Mamdani endorsed, has a significant early lead in the Democratic primary for this district. Lander is leading with 56.6% to incumbent Congressman Dan Goldman’s 23%.
In the 7th Congressional District, which covers Bushwick, Williamsburg, Long Island City and part of Astoria, the mayor’s approval rating was 77%.
This district overwhelmingly voted for Mamdani in the mayoral election, and it seems his endorsement is also playing a role in this district’s primary. Mamdani-backed candidate Claire Valdez, currently a state Assemblymember, has a slight lead over Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, PIX11’s poll shows.
New York’s 12th Congressional District, covering Midtown and the Upper East and West Sides, tells a slightly different story. It’s an area that swung toward former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the mayoral race, and Mamdani’s approval rating sat around 66%.
The approval rating changed significantly by age. In all three districts, voters between 18 and 39 supported Mamdani much more than their older counterparts. In NY-7, Mamdani had a 91% approval rating amongst voters 18-39. His approval rating is relatively similar amongst men and women.
