NYC plans a year-round sports complex at abandoned tennis courts in Willowbrook Park on Staten Island. The Parks Department presented plans Monday for the Eton Place project to the Public Design Commission. The site would include a soccer field, basketball court, gymnastics areas, tennis courts, pickleball courts, a fencing area, and an indoor clubhouse. Two bubble domes would cover the sports areas, and Staten Island FC Sports Complex LLC would operate the site for 20 years. The company has committed to a $5.7 million investment, and the complex is expected to open in spring 2027.
