Collegians: Amelia Tremper of Pine Bush graduates from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania – Daily Freeman

Amelia Tremper of Pine Bush graduated from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, with a bachelor of science degree in health education.

Two area residents — Elisabeth Muller of Wallkill and Thomas Langan of Red Hook — graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, on Sunday, May 17, with bachelor’s degrees.

Deli Smith of Boiceville, a student at SUNY Oneonta, was inducted into the Tau Sigma National Honor Society on Saturday, April 18.

Tau Sigma is designed exclusively for transfer students. The mission of the organization is to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students.

The minimum academic average required for membership is either a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent thereof) or an academic average that places the prospective candidate in the top 20% of all incoming transfer students during their incoming semester.

A member of the Class of 2027, Smith is majoring in media studies.

Dominic Pelizza of Valatie was named to the dean’s list at the University of Dubuque for the fall semester.

Students earn dean’s list status by achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
