ON MAY 14TH. A GROUP OF VETERANS SET OUT FROM JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, ON THEIR BIKES FOR A 1000 MILE JOURNEY. TOMORROW. SOLDIER, RIGHT. 250 WILL STOP IN BALTIMORE ON THEIR WAY TO NEW YORK CITY. SOME 80 WOUNDED WARRIORS ARE TAKING PART IN THE JOURNEY. EACH SECTION OF THE ROUTE WAS DIVIDED INTO 250 MILES, A NOD TO AMERICA’S 250TH ANNIVERSARY. THIS WEEKEND, THE GROUP MADE A STOP AT ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY TO PAY THEIR RESPECTS TO THE FALLEN. THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT, WHICH SPONSORS THE EVENT, WORKS TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE. Dozens of warriors are taking a meaningful journey that will make its way through Baltimore for Soldier Ride 250.The Wounded Warrior Project will bring together four groups of 20 warriors from around the country for a 1,000-mile cycling trip from its headquarters in Florida to New York.Along the way, the route will feature iconic landmarks spanning 250 years of American history. WWP said the warriors will engage with NFL teams as part of the league’s “Salute to Service” program honoring the military community.Organizers said the ride showcases the healing power that cycling has on the physical, mental and emotional health of the men and women who served. Each group of warriors will ride 250 miles to combine for the 1,000-mile journey that started Thursday and will culminate on May 29 in New York City.On May 26, the warriors will ride from Washington, D.C., to the Hilton Garden Inn on Campbell Boulevard in White Marsh.
