A suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a man in Manhattan.

Police are looking for a group of suspects who allegedly slashed a man and beat a woman in two separate robbery attempts in Manhattan earlier this month. 

According to law enforcement sources, both incidents occurred in broad daylight at W. 186 Street and Laurel Hill Terrace in Washington Heights on May 7 when the victims were walking on the street. 

The first incident happened at 3:20 p.m. when five perps surrounded a 21-year-old man and snatched a cellphone from his hand, authorities said. 

The victim managed to get his phone back after confronting the assailants. However, the encounter quickly turned violent when one attacker slashed him with a knife while the others punched and kicked him, police described.

After the beating, the suspects fled the location on foot westbound on West 187th Street to parts unknown. 

EMS responded and treated the victim on scene.

Just over two hours later, at around 5:40 in the same location, the violent group struck again, this time attacking a 44-year-old woman. 

Two suspects approached the woman from behind as one whipped out a knife and grabbed her cellphone from her hand while the other viciously punched her multiple times, police said.

The victim recovered her phone before the suspects fled on foot northbound on Amsterdam Avenue. 

EMS responded and transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in stable condition.

Police on Monday released surveillance photos of suspects involved in the first incident on May 7. They are unknown to the victims and remain at large.
