ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Applications are now open for New York State’s Excelsior Scholarship for the 2026-27 academic year.
The scholarship is for eligible, full-time SUNY and CUNY students whose families earn less than $125,000 a year. Students must be on track to graduate with an associate degree in two years or a bachelor’s degree in four years.
The deadline to apply for the scholarship for the upcoming academic year is Aug. 31. To learn more and apply, click here.
Enhanced Tuition Award
Applications are also being accepted for the Enhanced Tuition Award (ETA). Students attending a participating private college in New York can get up to $6,000 through the award.
Students must also be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, be a NYS resident for at least 12 months before the start of the term, have a combined federal household income of $125,000 or less, be enrolled full-time and complete 30 credits per year in their program study, and agree to live and work in New York State for the same number of years the award was received.
